DAIRY QUEEN PARTNERS WITH COLORADO
INK COMPANY FOR UNIQUE SUMMER PROMOTION Demand
grows for interactive inks from Chromatic Technologies,
Inc.
Colorado Springs- Beginning July 1, Dairy Queen® will be
serving their 16 oz. Ice Cream Blizzards, soft drinks, and
shakes in a cup which features DynaColor™ photochromic ink
developed by Chromatic Technologies, Inc. (CTI). The
photosensitive cup is the centerpiece of Dairy Queen´s "Turn
Your Summer Upside Down" instant win summer promotion. This
interactive photochromic ink is designed to be taken outdoors
and will react with sunlight. The sun will change the ink from
colorless to blue to reveal whether or not consumers have won
a prize. This marks the first time a Quick Serve Restaurant
(QSR) has used a technology like this on their cups.
Michael Keller, Executive Vice President of Dairy Queen
says the following "As the star of our "Turn Your Summer
Upside Down" promotion, this specially designed cup puts Dairy
Queen at the cutting edge of technology within the QSR
industry. We´ve added some fun into what we believe is a cool,
summer promotion. It´s not just a scratch-off and win.
Customers, kids in particular, will have fun turning their
Blizzard upside down to see if they´ve won."
This color-changing promotion is the latest in a trend
toward interactive packaging for consumer goods. CTI has seen
sales increase dramatically over the past two years. This
growth is fueled by the need for companies to increase sales
through product differentiation. Numerous industries have
discovered the value added and affordability of interactive
ink enhancements. Some of these industries include: food
packaging, music, beverage containers, children´s products,
safety products, and clothing.
As a pioneer in photochromic ink technology, CTI is
regarded as an industry leader in specialty and security inks.
With numerous patents and over 10 years experience in the
specialty ink business, CTI now offers over 20 ink systems.
These ink types include thermochromic, glow-in-the-dark, UV
fluorescent, IR reactive, and Photochromic. They are used for
both security and promotional applications around the
world.
