| Framegrabber for the PC The framegrabber processes the analogue video signal from the CCD camera and "translates" it into the digital data language of the computer. Without it, imaging wouldn’t be possible. The framegrabber supplied by us provides not one, but two video inputs. Thus two video sources can be connected, and you can view the images without having to tediously switch the signal sources by plugging in different cables. The software allows you to change video sources in the program simply by mouse-click. The grabber’s electronic system supports all common video standards, such as PAL, NTSC and SECAM. The card transfers the images from the CCD system or video camera to the image memory of the VGA card or to the system memory of the PC for imaging. The image is then displayed on the VGA monitor of the PC. Due to the fact that the image data are transferred more or less directly via the PCI bus, the load on the CPU is kept to a minimum. As a result, the images can be viewed in real-time video. The maximum image resolution is 768x575 pixels. However, together with the grabber no standard multimedia cards can be used. Naturally, video clips can also be recorded with the grabber and a camera system, provided the video clip module of the Metric is installed. This is often desirable for recording dynamic process errors. When several cameras are used at the same time, as with the LMS system for instance, duo or quadro framegrabbers can be installed as required. |
